JV Softball Hot Out of the Gate, Starting 3-0

The Harrison Wildcats JV Softball team has gotten off to a great start in the 2021 season. The Wildcats are 3-0 with impressive wins over Hamilton, Seton and SWOC rival Edgewood.

Contest number one featured a 5-0 complete game shutout by freshman Pitcher Alana Lemmel. The offense was supplied by sophomore catcher Molly Hudler’s tremendous towering 3-run homer and 4 RBI effort with the bat. The Cats tallied 10 hits and committed only one error in the game.

The Ladycats defeated GGCL power Seton, 10-6 for their second consecutive victory last Wednesday on the home field at Harrison. The weather was chilly but the Cats' bats were hot as they collected 10 more hits in the slugfest. Alana “AJ” Lemmel went the distance in the pitcher's circle, earning her second win in a row. The Cats offense was led by Ava Hickey’s 3 RBI’s, and multiple hits and RBI’s from Kristen Liggett, Morgan Gardner, and AJ Lemmel.

Finally, the Wildcats earned victory number 3 of 3 with a 21-2 run rule victory over SWOC rival Edgewood at the Cougars' home field this Monday afternoon. AJ Lemmel’s third straight complete game victory was sealed in the 1st inning as the Wildcats' offense scored 11 runs in their first at bat. Hot bats from Sofia Brock (3-4, with a double and 4 RBI’s), AJ Lemmel (3-5, with a triple and 5 RBI’s), Kristen Liggett (2-4, with 2 RBI’s) Morgan Gardner and Alexis Reardon’s 2 RBI’s each led the Cats to the victory.

The Cats are at home Tuesday versus Oak Hills.
