Kiefer Breaks 31-Year-Old School Record in 1600m

The Track and Field team traveled to Ross to compete at the Ross Invitational last Friday. The girls team had a great night with lots of personal records and a brand new school record! The girls placed 3rd as a team. Natalie Kiefer broke the 35-year-old school record in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:24.99 and then won the 800 meter run. Natalie's school record came on only the 3rd time that she has run this event. Fantastic job, Natalie!

Also winning events were Olivia Butler in the pole vault, Saunti Tolliver in the discus, and the 4x100 meter relay team of Timi Oyekunle, Lana Price, Ava Tombragel, and Olivia Butler. Ava Tombragel placed 2nd in the 100 meter dash and 3rd in the 200 meter dash; and 3rd place finishes were notched by Lexi Doolan in the shot put, McKenzie Bien in the discus, Julia Mays in the high jump, and Timi Oyekunle in the long jump.

The boys finished 9th at the meet. Gavin Moore was 3rd in the long jump, Josh Basich was 4th in the shot put, the 4x800 meter relay team of Jayden Thompson, Jack Schrage, Addisen Kohls, and Asher Gibson was 4th as well. Also scoring for the boys were Colin Kleine, Eli McKain, and Dom Butler.
